We have made it easier to export

This is a sprint chock full of improvements based on popular customer requests including the ability to export a spreadsheet directly from our app. Previously, we sent an email whenever a user requested an export.

With this release users can now quickly choose both what they would like to export and the type of export. Export to a spreadsheet, directly to an app, or in the case of vendors, to a large retailer.

We’ve also made it easier than ever to get started using Venzee. Head on over to the dashboard and get your feet wet via our brand new Get Started section. You’ll be up and running in no time!

What’s new and improved at Venzee:

  • New Get Started section in the dashboard helps new users quickly get up to speed.
  • Export product spreadsheets directly from our app (no more emails).
  • We support 100+ Apps & Retail and that number is growing. We’ve added search to instantly find what you’re looking for.
  • Improved user interface on the Settings page for Product Lists and Exported Product Lists.
  • Increased the number of images you can export to Shopify and added ALT tags for each.

5 things to consider before pricing your product – and a spreadsheet to boot!

Okay so you’ve spent a hundred hours coming up with a new product, you’ve figured out your supply chain, and your retailers are dying for your product. All done right? Nope. Read on for the most important stage of product development: pricing!

  Understand All Your Costs
When you are looking at how much to charge for a product, it’s far more that just the cost of the materials that go into your product. It’s also the sourcing and assembling, the packaging, the shipping, etc.

Consider the quantity – if there are more or less volume being produced, will your costs go up or down?

What is your overhead to produce these items? Salaries, rent, subscription services, and so on.

Know Your Target Audience

Is this an essential item and customers will ignore the price?
Will your customers work hard to find the cheapest available?
Consider Your Competitors And Where Your Product Fits
Quality: is your product the best that’s available?
Brand: does an existing brand have a monopoly on the market (e.g. Kleenex)
What niche are you striving for? Premium or Great Value? Think about the classic marketing tiers. Gold, Silver, and Bronze, does your product fit nicely in the middle?
Understand The Value The Product Is Providing
Ask your customers, what is too much to pay for this product?
What if you charged double and still sold as many?
Is there a dollar amount connected to the savings or productivity that your product provides?

Consider Additional Costs On Your Item
Taxes
Shipping
Do you price your item so it includes these items
Does the price round to an even number, or a .95?

We’ve built a spreadsheet to help you get a leg up on this. Play with the Google Sheet here, or download an excel version.

Once you are happy with the price and you need to get your product data to your retailers, sign up for a free account of Venzee, and see how easy it can be to get rid of spreadsheets.

In this weeks release, the Venzee dev team delivered image import from URL’s. This is in addition to uploading from your hard drive and importing from popular solutions including Dropbox and Google Drive. You can attach up to ten images to each record in Venzee which is particularly useful for product information management.

How does image import via URL work? When you add data to Venzee and include a URL instead of a filename, Venzee will detect this and ‘fetch’ a copy of the image from the URL provided and associate this image with your record.

Step 3: Mapping Data Attributes to Template Fields

Your Source Data has been uploaded and you’ve selected your Neto template. The next step is mapping your source data attributes (ID, name, description, etc.) to the fields in the Neto template. Venzee offers advanced features like math calculations, the ability to add padding, and even make tables. You can even generate brand new data by combining your source data’s attributes with the fields in the Neto template. If you need more detail about what goes where, just click the tool tip icon to the right of the fields.

Remember, this is a bulk process. No more tedious work on single product records one at a time!

Now, click “Export” to get the download link sent to your email. Use this file to upload your new, bulk-created Neto-ready products into your store.

Allow Venzee To Work Its Magic….

Here’s what you’ve been waiting for…
